Give yourself the gift of expression, empowerment and transformation through fire dance! Ignite your fire and embody your new year intentions in this Fire Fan Master Class intensive. As the year transitions, the element of fire offers a potent opportunity to release what no longer serves and spark new beginnings. Learn how to dance with empowerment, sensuality and grace and rise like the Phoenix with your Fire Fan wings helping you to soar and shine.

These Fire Fan workshops will teach foundational and intermediate Fan moves and dance choreography for you to embody your own Phoenix Rising. Through the fire ritual, you will release and transmute the old, rising from the ashes with renewed clarity, empowerment, and grace. Start the new year shining your light and igniting your joy!

LOCATION:

Private residence in Sacramento (Rocklin CA specifically) with fire pit, luxurious multi-level pool, jacuzzi and large cement platform and dance space. Address provided after registration. 

SCHEDULE:

SAT. JAN 4th Full Intensive 2:00pm - 9:00pm

Fire Fans 101 Workshop:

2:00pm - 4:00pm -- warm-up, understanding of geometry and planes, grip techniques and styles, basic movement pathways, and fire safety training. 

Fire Fans Intermediate Intensive with Phoenix Rising Choreography and Fire Ritual*:

4:15pm - 5:45pm – in-depth Master Class with intermediate-level moves, choreography, storytelling dance, and performance tips. We will learn progressive moves that build to a full choreographed dance to embody the Phoenix Rising from the flames. More advanced moves given as options for those with more fire fan experience such as 3-beat weaves, boxes, flowers and spinning technique.

6:00pm - 8:30pm -- Fire Ritual, Igniting and Dancing together with Fire -- a guided journaling and ritual offering to the fire to release the old and ignite your intentions for the new year. Fire safety recap, light up, and Phoenix Rising Fire Fan dance together. Fire jam and sharing your light! Optional hot-tub refresh post fire jam after 8:30pm.  

*Please note - fire safety training and some Fan experience with Erica Ignite is needed before this class. If you are new to Fire Fans and have not been to a fire safety training with Erica, please enroll in both workshops or message Erica first.

All online workshops will include the recording if you're not able to attend live and if you want to keep practicing.

NOTE - the online Phoenix Rising Ritual and Choreography will be a dance experience and workshop for all movers - you can apply it to Fire Fans, Palm torches, and other flow arts, but the props are NOT necessary for this Workshop.

💫 ABOUT YOUR GUIDE: Erica Ignite and Ignite Joy Productions 💫

Erica Ignite helps people live more ignited, embody your creative flow, and embrace your authentic, wild expression. As an embodiment coach, personal trainer, yoga teacher, bodyworker, and professional fire dancer and multi-modality dancer, Erica has taught thousands of movement classes and performed globally. She was classically trained in ballet and jazz from a young age and has spent her life dancing. She feels honored to have studied many forms of movement modalities and to have learned from Elders of many spiritual traditions. Her journey has included studying traditional tantra yoga in India, Qigong and meditation with Thai monks, Native American spiritual practices, Ayahuasca ceremonies in Central America, and Wildlife Management Studies in Kenya. These experiences have deepened her connection to movement, storytelling, and the power of ritual and working with the elements, and she loves to share what she has learned as a coach.

Erica founded Ignite Joy Productions to produce transformative retreats, community art events, and collaborative dance productions. Part of the invitation and intention with these workshops, is to train dancers to co-create larger performances together using ritual, activism, and storytelling to inspire a regenerative and thriving future. After experiencing burnout having worked for high-pressure office jobs, fire dancing reignited Erica’s love of dance and self-expression, connected her to a worldwide community of creatives and reignited the flame deep within. Helping others learn fire dance and ignite their fire is one of her greatest joys . She loves helping others find their embodied expression and feel empowered through dance, fitness and embodiment practices.
